Alabama Real Estate Continuing Education Requirements

The Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC) sets the continuing education requirements for Alabama real estate licensees. AREC requires a total of fifteen (15) clock hours of continuing education every two years for the renewal of an active license.

The fifteen hour continuing education course requirement are broken down as follows:

  1. Licensees are required to take the 3-hour Risk Management course
  2. Licensees must choose at least one of the following 3-hour courses:
    • License Law/Trust Funds
    • Fair Housing/Equal Opportunity/ADA
    • RECAD
  3. The remaining 9 hours may be elective courses
